PROJECT

I recently worked with an inclusive group of adults who form The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company, who specialise working with adults with learning difficulties and autism to help achieve their creative talents.

The aim of the project "Freedom & Friendship" was to work with adults with special educational needs within the community, whether thats learning difficulties, autism, down syndrome, mental health conditions or a physical disability and the purpose was to socially bring the community together using the theme 'friendship', looking at different acts of friendship, and what friendship means to each different individual helping them express themselves through dance and movement.

Enabling them to progress, achieve and engage within dance and movement, seeing how individuals progress within the given time within their movement and their confidence. They have also explored what their body is capable of focusing on using basic laban framework to achieve this, allowing themselves to understand basic actions of the body.

I  also managed to win an 'Equality and Diversity award from Newcastle College coming first place with 'Freedom & Friendship'.
